MMDC is making this change to comply with the revised CHED Memorandum Order #4 S2023, released in 2023; it will temporarily pause the Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSBA) program, effective in Term 3, April 2024, until the release of CHED's newest guidance on distance learning. MMDC will continue to offer a fully online Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (BSIT) program with specializations in Software Development, Network & Cybersecurity, and Data Analytics.

"At MMDC, we value transparency, compliance, and the unwavering commitment to our students' educational journey. The temporary pause on our BSBA program aligns with our dedication to providing quality education within the evolving landscape of higher education. As we await CHED's newest guidance, MMDC remains steadfast in its mission to empower and transform working students’ lives through cutting-edge programs. We appreciate the understanding of our community and look forward to resuming our BSBA program with renewed vigor and relevance, continuing our legacy of excellence in the digital realm," said Engr. Dennis Tablante, Executive Director at MMDC.

Current MMDC BSBA students will have several options for continuing their education and the support they need to ensure the completion of their degree programs. MMDC will also soon be announcing strengthened, business-focused specializations within the Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (BSIT) degree program available starting in Term 1, August 2024 to continuously serve working students in the country, ensuring they acquire the necessary skills for success in a business and tech-driven world.

MMDC assures all students that they are committed to providing solutions at the earliest possible time and is working continuously to build the best programs for working students within CHED boundaries and guidance.

The college’s commitment to compliance and excellence:

Compliance and Collaboration
MMDC has engaged in ongoing discussions with CHED throughout 2023 and has reached an agreement to pause the BSBA program, pending the release of CHED's newest guidelines on distance learning.

Future Plans
MMDC remains committed to the BSBA program and is eagerly awaiting the release of the newest CHED guidance. MMDC will also seek CHED approval to resume its BA programs, with plans in place to resume in 2025, aligned with the updated regulatory framework.

Alternative Options
To support incoming students affected by the pause, MMDC is introducing strengthened, business-focused specializations within the Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (BSIT) degree. This enhancement aims to provide students with a competitive edge in the job market. Additionally, the BSBA program is available at MMDC’s parent College, Mapúa Malayan Colleges Laguna (MMCL), through a campus+online model.

Student Support
MMDC understands the importance of minimizing disruptions for existing students. Individualized plans, in compliance with CHED directives, have been developed to ensure a smooth transition for current BSBA students. The college is committed to providing unwavering support during this period. Students may reach out to the MMDC Student Affairs team (iaservices@mmdc.mcl.edu.ph) for any questions and concerns.

Staff and Faculty
MMDC's growth continues with a strong demand for programs catering to working students. There are no plans for reassignment or negative impacts on staff and faculty associated with the BSBA program.

Strategic Pause
The decision to pause the BSBA program is seen as a strategic move within the context of MMDC's commitment to providing the best programs for working students, guided by CHED regulations.

MMDC values the understanding and support of its students, faculty, and the broader community during this transition. The college remains dedicated to transforming lives through academic excellence and will keep the community updated on developments related to the BSBA program.
