MANILA, Philippines (June 26, 2022) – For many working adults, there is a desire to continue higher education to pursue their college diploma, obtain a second degree, or upskill for better career opportunities and advancement. However, just like many Filipino students surveyed, deciding to choose a college depends on the reputation of the school, close proximity to their homes, affordability, and an experience that will help them succeed in their chosen career path - but an additional ask for working adults is the flexibility to balance school, life, and work.

To empower working students to acquire future-proof job skills and achieve more through higher education, Mapúa Malayan Digital College (MMDC), a new college launched by Mapúa University and Malayan Colleges Laguna, A Mapúa School, has introduced the MMDC Continuing Education Scholarship Program. This program is open to qualified employees of MMDC’s industry partners,, whereby successful applicants are awarded a 100% scholarship on tuition fees for Bachelor's Degrees in Information Technology or Business Administration. The scholarship is valid for 45 units to be completed in 2 years.

We help set students up for success through MMDC’s Projects, Problems and Cases (PPC) model, which emphasizes real-world applications, and not just technical skills but also soft skills such as critical thinking, leadership, creativity, analysis, and collaboration. We look forward to helping more students thrive in their developing careers, as well as our industry partners who will benefit from their employees’ hunger for continuing education,” said Derrick Latreille, Chief Learning Officer of MMDC and Co-founder of Ayala Education.
