What is the difference between the MMDC Signature Programs and the Engineering Degree Programs?

The Mapúa Malayan Digital College Signature Programs uses the Experiential Learning System (XLS) with a curriculum designed by ISD professionals. Students will learn through real-world Problems, Projects, and Cases (PPC), collaborating with peers in classes moderated by professors.

The fully online, flexible, self-paced Engineering Programs under Mapúa Malayan Colleges Laguna are powered by Blackboard Learn (BBL), a virtual learning environment and learning management system accessible anytime, anywhere--so students can learn independently at their own pace.

I am a working student, can I still take classes even if my schedule is unpredictable?

Yes. MMDC's required class meeting times clock in at approximately 7.5 hours a week of synchronous learning. You can choose from morning, afternoon and evening classes, whichever is convenient for you.

This gives you more control of your time and allows you to balance academics, hobbies, family life, and social life.

How long will it take for me to graduate?

If you take a full load of 15 units or 5 subjects every term, you will graduate in 3 years and 2 Terms for BS IT
The duration, if less load is taken per term, will depend on how many units you take.

Will I have a graduation after I finish my program?

Graduation is an important milestone of your student journey. Whether online or face-to-face, MMDC strives to give you the best student experience possible.

What are the requirements for Latin Honors?

The following are the metrics for Latin Honor
Summa Cum Laude - 1.00 <= GWA <= 1.25
Magna Cum Laude - 1.25 <= GWA <= 1.50
Cum Laude - 1.50 <= GWA <= 1.75

When do classes start for each Term?

MMDC follows a trimester schedule. Here are the months when classes start:

Are the programs fully online?

Yes. All degree programs are fully serviced through our digital platforms.

Some schools are deploying Hybrid Learning starting this year. Will MMDC's classes stay fully online?

Yes. MMDC classes will always be online. Being digital-first means that Mapúa Malayan Digital College uses the web and technological tools to deliver digital college education. At MMDC, you can get a full college experience as you learn from anywhere.

Are we required to go to the Learning Hubs?

No. Our students are not required to go to the Learning Hubs. However, the Learning Hubs are there to cultivate MMDC students to socialize with their peers, as well as host events in the future as well.

What can I do at the Learning Hubs?

All MMDC students can go to our Learning Hubs that are located in accessible areas in Quezon City and Bacolod. There, you can meet with your classmates, work on your projects, or schedule a study session.

With high-speed Internet access; comfortable, modern furnishings; and a spacious lounge area, you’ll know that this was a space made just for you.

How do I get my Computer?

If you availed of the Computer from MMDC, upon completion of enrollment, MMDC students can pick up their MMDC Kit (including the Computer, Postpaid Pocket Wifi device, School ID, & Welcome Freebies) from our Learning Hubs in Cloverleaf (Quezon City) or Capitol Central (Bacolod City).

Do I have a new Computer every year?

You can avail yourself of a Lease-to-Own Computer from MMDC when you enroll as a freshman. While a Pocket Wifi will be a standard-issue device for all new MMDC students.

You will not receive a new Computer and Pocket Wifi every year.

I already have my own laptop, can I opt not to avail the Computer?

Yes, you can choose not to get a computer from MMDC. A Pocket Wifi will be a standard-issue device for all new MMDC students.

What are the clubs that I can join for my extracurricular activities?

Here at MMDC, we never limit our students to a one-size fits all type of extracurricular activities. We foster an inclusive environment that hones holistic intellectuals and creatives. We make sure that we support our students in their passion even outside the confines of their degree.

We encourage our students to pursue their passions and interests, whether it's for social good, sports, music, arts or other interests. Having a club will enable them to practice their interests, improve on skills, join activities, build and help communities, create social impact, and get connected with like-minded people. Admissions

Is there an application fee?

None. Mapúa Malayan Digital College does not charge an application fee for our applicants.

Is there an entrance examination before we can enroll?

MMDC requires all applicants to take an online Problems, Projects, and Cases (PPC) Assessment as a baseline of your readiness to succeed with MMDC. This assessment is free.

Are you accepting applicants already?

Yes. MMDC accepts freshmen and transferees all year round, at any term. This means you can join in Term 1, Term 2, or Term 3. And you can apply as early as now. Just ready your application requirements. In case some are still unavailable, you can submit them before classes start. That's how flexible MMDC is!

Can I change the information I submitted through the application form?

After you submit your application form via the website, you can still update your information in Enrollmate. Simply log-in your EnrollMate account to update before you submit.

Can I enroll in MMDC even if my original report card is not yet available?

Yes, students may submit their report card once it is already available. Please standby for an announcement on our website regarding the deadline for submission of your enrollment requirements.

Do I need to go to the MMDC Learning Hub to enroll?

No, enrollment is conveniently done online! The whole admissions process is online through our web-based application Enrollmate - Your Digital Enrollment Buddy. Watch this helpful video to learn more.

You may visit the Learning Hub for group huddles with your peers, club activities, and other social activities keeping in mind MMDC’s safety guidelines and precautions.

When is the enrollment period per term?

Here is the enrollment period per term:

Term 1 (classes start August to November) - Enrollment is from May to August
Term 2 (classes start December to March) - Enrollment is on December
Term 3 (classes start April to July) - Enrollment is on April

Are parents/guardians allowed to process the enrollment on behalf of the student?

Yes, parents/guardians may process the enrollment as long as the necessary forms are accomplished and signed by the student.

Are you accepting Freshman New Students from another school?

Yes. All Incoming Freshmen from all schools are welcome at Mapúa Malayan Digital College as our New Students.

Are you accepting 3rd Year Transferees from another school?

We will start accepting 3rd Year Transferees from different schools at Mapúa Malayan Digital College next academic year, 2024-2025.

I have an unfinished degree from a different school, can my previous classes be credited?

Yes. MMDC accepts transferees. You will be required to submit the following documents for Credit review:

  • Applicant’s Personal ID
  • Transcript of Records (for evaluation purposes) or Copy of Grades
  • Course description of each courses taken
  • Request for Credit Evaluation Form (RCEF) to be provided by MMDC
  • Transfer Credentials (required prior to enrollment)

Tuition and Financial Aid

How much are the tuition fee and miscellaneous fees?

Avail of the MMDC Asenso Scholarship program, open to the first 500 enrollees.

Your Computation:

Annual Tuition Fee without Computer: PHP78,000
Less Asenso Partial Scholarship: up to PHP20,000
Total Payment for 2023-2024: PHP58,000 for a full load.

You may avail yourself of a Computer from MMDC for your studies. This will be in a lease-to-own agreement, which means students can own the device after completing the program. With this computer, you can have a better connected experience with the Computer’s Cloud Technology so you don’t have to worry about losing any of your work.

Can I pay for my tuition through an installment plan?

We have partnered with Bukas.PH to make Mapúan academic excellence more accessible to you! With Bukas.PH, you can now have a 12-month installment plan for your tuition with minimal interest fees. Simply apply through this page.

How do I compute my enrollment fee?

This is how to compute your GSA manually:

MMDC’s per unit cost is ₱1,271. With the MMDC Asenso Scholarship discount, per unit costs ₱813 under the full payment mode. There is minimal interest for installment payments.

MMDC’s miscellaneous fee for 10 units and up is ₱7,155. Students who are enrolled in 9 units or less get a 40% discount amounting to ₱4,293 only.

Working Students & Transferees

I am a working student, can I still take classes even if my schedule is unpredictable?

Can I enroll in less than 15 units?

Yes, it is encouraged that working students don't enroll the maximum load of units. MMDC understands the need to balance work, personal, and school life.
MMDC also offers a 40% discount on miscellaneous fees if you enroll in 9 units or less. That's only P4,149.

Do you accept high school graduates from old curriculum?

Yes, we do. You only need to submit your proof of eligibility for high school completion.

I have taken college units in the past. Can I qualify for a course credit review?

Yes. Transferees, College Returnees, and 2nd-degree takers are eligible to request for credit evaluation. You will be required to fill out the Request for Credit Evaluation Form (RCEF) provided by MMDC and attach your Transcript of Records with grades indicated and course descriptions. Our Academic team will assess your RCEF and provide feedback. The process usually takes 5-7 working days depending on the queue. This credit evaluation process is provided free of charge to assist MMDC transferees.

My previous school closed already and I can't get my documents. What can I do?

If your previous school closed, you need to contact your local DepEd (elementary, secondary and non-formal education) or CHED (higher education and TESDA administering post-secondary, middle-level manpower training and development) offices to request your student documents.

I'm having difficulty getting my college documents, is it okay to start as a Freshman and submit my HS credentials instead?

Yes you can start as a Freshman. In this case, you forego the course crediting process and you will still be required to submit your Transcript of Records (TOR) and honorable dismissal or Certificate of Good Behavior from your company.

I'm a transferee but I want to retake all classes and start as a freshman. Is this possible?

Can you describe how my Transcript of Records will look with the Rubrics Grading System?

The Rubrics Grading System will only be used in identifying your scores for a particular output. Your Transcript of Records (TOR) will still reflect the typical grades students in other colleges see, with 1.0 as the maximum possible grade per subject.

The organization/company I work for is an MMDC partner. How can I apply for the Continuing Education Scholarship?

Here are your steps to apply for the Continuing Education Scholarship:

  1. Submit your online application form and be sure to indicate your Company Name for proper identification.
  2. Follow the MMDC admissions process by passing the PPC Assessment and receiving your acceptance letter.
  3. Email the following requirements to scholarships@mmdc.mcl.edu.ph with subject: CE Application, Last name, First name:
    • CE Scholarship Program Application Form
    • Scholarship Letter of Intent
    • Certificate of Employment
    • Company-issued Scholarship Nomination Letter
  4. Receive your Generated Student Assessment (GSA) from MMDC Admissions
  5. Pay the discounted tuition fee indicated in the GSA to enroll

Transfer Credit Process for Transferees

How long does the credit evaluation process typically take?

The credit evaluation process can take as fast as 5 business days once all required documents are submitted. Please ensure your documents are complete based on the guidelines for a smooth crediting process.

Can I request credit evaluation before I'm officially enrolled at MMDC?

Yes, you can initiate the credit evaluation process before enrollment. In fact, it's best that this is completed during the admission period to ensure that you dont enroll in the courses which may be credited. Simply submit the required documents, and we'll begin the evaluation.

What documents do I need to submit for the credit evaluation process?

You'll need to submit the Request for Credit Evaluation Form (RCEForm), your Official Transcript of Records (TOR) or Copy of Grades, and course descriptions for each subject you're requesting credit for.

How do I know if my previous courses are eligible for credit transfer?

Our evaluators carefully review your submitted documents to determine the equivalency and transferability of your previous coursework to MMDC's curriculum.

Will I receive notification once my credit evaluation is complete?

Yes, you'll receive notification via email once your credit evaluation is complete. You will receive back your RCEF with the results as evaluated by the Academics Team and signature of the Program Head. This will detail the outcome of the evaluation and any credits awarded.

Can I appeal the outcome of the credit evaluation if I disagree with the results?

Yes, if you disagree with the outcome of the credit evaluation. If you are an applicant/not yet enrolled in MMDC, you may submit an appeal to your Admissions Advisor. The Academics team will review your appeal and provide further guidance.

Is there a fee for the MMDC credit evaluation process?

No, it's completely free! The credit evaluation process is a complimentary service we offer to applicants and transferees during their inital term of studies at MMDC.

How soon can I expect to start classes after completing the credit evaluation process?

Once your credit evaluation is complete and any necessary enrollment steps are finalized, you can typically expect to start classes in the upcoming term.

What happens if I'm missing some of the required documents for the evaluation? Can I still enroll?

Yes you can enroll without result! Submit a blank and signed RCEF to signify your intent to undergo the course evaluation process. You have within your initial term of studies in MMDC to complete your RCE documents (TOR, course description, etc). Failure to submit a RCEF means that you will not request for any credit evaluation.

You can go ahead to enroll and choose your subjects and schedules. However, please note that enrolled subjects will not be considered for credit evaluation.

I'm already enrolled in MMDC and I just received my TOR, who do I submit it to?

If you're already enrolled, please email your requirement to Records Officer from the Student Affairs team at records@mmdc.mcl.edu.ph. Subject should be: Request for Credit Evaluation - Surname, First Name.

I don't have any course descriptions. Can I proceed?

If you're missing the course descriptions, you can still move forward with the evaluation. Simply indicate your consent to proceed without them. However, please note that without these course descriptions, our evaluation will be based solely on your transcript, potentially resulting in limited or no credit. Students who contest the RCEF results should be able to show a course description or waive the right to contest.

Course descriptions offer important details about your coursework, aiding us in aligning it with MMDC's curriculum.

What if my TOR isn't ready yet?

We understand that your TOR may take time to be processed. Don't worry, you have until the end of your initial term at MMDC to complete the course crediting process. You just need to at least file you RCEF and show proof/official receipt that you've ordered your TOR on or before the last day of enrollment for the term.

I have my course credit evaluation results. What now?

Excellent! If all your other enrollment documents have been verified by the Admissions team, you can proceed with enrollment. Log in EnrollMate to choose your subjects and schedules.

I'm a transferee but I don't want to have my previous courses credited. What do I do?

You just need the RCEF form. Check the box signifying you are Not Requesting for Credit and sign. Then upload the signed RCEF on EnrollMate.

I already submitted my Certification of Grades. Do I need to submit a TOR?

Yes, you need to submit your official TOR as part of your enrollment requirements.

I don't have my TOR. What can I submit as an alternative?

For the purpose of Course Crediting, you can submit:
Copy of Grades or Grade Certification

However, it is still required for you to submit your TOR before the end of your initial term at MMDC.

I don't have a scanner. Can I take a picture of my documents instead of scanning?

Yes, you can use your phone to take a picture. We recommend apps like Doc Scanner, Adobe Scan, Microsoft Office Lens, CamScanner, GeniusScan, or Mobile Doc Scanner.

Ensure clear, complete pictures with sharp, legible text. For multi-page documents, verify all pages are in order to avoid missing information.

What if Certification of grades has no grading System in the document?

Student has to supply a scanned copy of their school’s Grading system via scanning from the student handbook with the cover page of the student handbook with school logo and School Year.

What documents are not accepted as supporting documents?

1. Certificate of Grades that have handwritten grades on it or any erasures on the grading part of the document.
2. Certificate of Grades with no proof the student ordered a transcript from the school.
